Cargill MacMillan Jr., 84, the billionaire heir to an agribusiness fortune, died Monday at his home in Indian Wells, Calif., where he was under hospice care.

Forbes magazine estimates Mr. MacMillan's worth at $2.6 billion. He was an heir to Cargill, a Minnesota-based agricultural conglomerate that has $120 billion in revenue. It is the largest privately held company in the world. However, Mr. MacMillan had no day-to-day role in the company.

The Palm Springs Desert Sun said Mr. MacMillan and his wife, Donna, moved from Minnesota to Indian Wells in 1990 and were philanthropists, donating a $20 million art collection to the Palm Springs Art Museum. - AP
