Colin A. Campbell, 43, a graduate of the Haverford School who married his high school sweetheart and went on to a career in Wall Street finance, died Saturday, Sept. 21, of cancer at a hospice in Newark, N.J.

Mr. Campbell, who lived in Madison, N.J., with his wife, Becky, and their family, was head of U.S. credit trading in the New York office of Scotiabank.

"Throughout his illness, he exhibited courage and dignity. He is an inspiration to all who worked closely with him and knew him well," Michael Zych of Scotiabank wrote in a company e-mail to his colleagues.

Mr. Campbell was born in Philadelphia. While attending the Haverford School, Mr. Campbell earned 10 varsity letters in soccer, squash, and lacrosse. He was captain of his squash and soccer teams in his senior year.

He met his future wife while she was attending the Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, said his brother Frederick M. 2d. They attended Harvard College together and graduated in 1992. They were married in 1996.

At Harvard, Mr. Campbell played on three undefeated varsity squash teams and was awarded an NCAA championship ring during the 1991 and 1992 seasons.

He was a member of the Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770, the Fly Club, and the Pi Eta Club. He graduated cum laude. He later earned a master's degree in business from Columbia University.

Before joining Scotiabank, Mr. Campbell worked at Goldman Sachs and Barclays, his brother said.

In addition to his wife and brother, Mr. Campbell is survived by sons Matthew and Luke; daughters Riley and Darby; his parents, Robert E. and Nancy Campbell; a sister; and a brother.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Rd., Madison, N.J.
