Eric Bercovici, 80, screenwriter for the 1980 TV miniseries Shogun, based on the 1975 novel by James Clavell, about an English seaman marooned in 17th-century Japan, died Feb. 9 of a heart attack at his home in Kaneohe, Hawaii, his son Luca said.
