Letters | About those 'million-dollar doggies'

RE MISTER Mann Frisby's op-ed "The million-dollar doggies": Quote: "I couldn't help but think what $1 million could do for young black men in the Virginia community where the dog ring was busted. I'm sure there's a young brotha somewhere in the county with a 3.5 GPA, over 1100 on his SATs and ambitions to be an engineer, lawyer or (ironically) a veterinarian."

Why only one color? There are plenty of other folks with the same problems. (But the money should be used for children and society.)

Don't even get me started on the government itself with its million-dollar reports. (If you eat too much, you get fat. Duh!) And to PETA: I'm not saying the dogs shouldn't be taken care of, either. I'm a proud owner of two adorable and fun-loving pit bulls myself and wouldn't trade them for the world. But let's realize we all need to stick together because, as a society, we're losing the battle.
