Kids' time with PBS stars

Children can have play time with the morning show duo as they read stories and take photos from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. downstairs in the center's Merchant Market area. Participating merchants will offer kid-themed specials.

The Academy of Natural Sciences and the Arden Theatre Company will supervise projects for children and give information about their programs.

On the center's ground level, families are invited to watch "The Comcast Experience" video screen show. The playdate is sponsored by KidsInCenterCity.com.

The Year of the Rabbit

On Friday evening, the International House of Philadelphia hosts its Ninth Annual Chinese New Year Celebration, offering an evening of music, dance performances, and traditional food.

The celebration will ring in the Year of the Rabbit with performances by the University of Pennsylvania Pan-Asian Dance Troupe, and traditional music. Dance presentations and performances will be given by members of the city's Chinese community. Samples of traditional Chinese food will be served. The event will end with a performance of the lion dance, which dates back thousands of years.

The celebration is sponsored by Wachovia, Wells Fargo and Sang Kee Noodle House.

Bollywood Dance for Kids

Celebrity choreographer Rujuta Vaidya comes to World Cafe Live on Saturday to teach Bollywood Dance for Kids, offering families a fun healthy physical activity while broadening cultural understanding.

The workshop, designed and choreographed by Vaidya, is for children and adults and offers a fusion of Bollywood beats, Indian folk dance moves and Western style. The choreographer will teach two sessions. Beginning at 10 a.m. will be the class for ages 4 to 11. At noon, teenagers and adults can get in on the fun during the dance fitness class where they can also learn intricate Bollywood moves.

Vaidya has choreographed for the Oscars as well as Bollywood dance routines for pop music group the Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears and the Cheetah Girls.
