Eagles guard Shawn Andrews will miss the Pro Bowl because of a neck injury. He will be replaced by Chicago Bears guard Ruben Brown, who was added to the NFC's roster yesterday.
Andrews suffered the injury - a bruise that will not affect his play next season - just before halftime of the Eagles' second-round playoff loss to New Orleans on Jan. 13.
The 24-year-old Andrews was the Eagles' first-round draft choice in 2004. He was voted as an alternate to the NFC's Pro Bowl squad last season.
This will be the ninth Pro Bowl for Brown.
Cowboys. Dallas added Jason Garrett to the coaching staff and said he would remain a candidate to replace retired head coach Bill Parcells.
The most likely scenario is that Garrett will become the offensive coordinator if he is not the head coach.
Garrett, 40, the backup to Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman for two Super Bowl winners in Dallas from 1993 to '99, was quarterbacks coach in Miami the last two seasons.
Cardinals. New coach Ken Whisenhunt hired former Dallas assistant coach Todd Haley as Arizona's offensive coordinator and retained defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast.
Bengals. Chris Henry got a judge's lecture and a two-day jail sentence after settling the last of his four court cases, putting the Cincinnati receiver in line for another suspension from the NFL.
Henry drew a two-game suspension this season for violating the league's conduct and substance abuse policies, and could get a harsher punishment for his latest convictions.
Henry avoided jail time in three cases last year but was taken to the Kenton County Jail in northern Kentucky after a judge accepted his guilty plea for letting minors drink in a hotel room he rented last spring. Henry received a 90-day sentence, with all but two days suspended.
Colts. Reggie Wayne, a Pro Bowl receiver, said he noticed nothing wrong with Peyton Manning's throws in practice aside from a few errant passes that are typical.
Manning injured his right thumb late in Sunday's AFC championship game against New England.
Jaguars. Former Alabama coach Mike Shula was hired as the quarterbacks coach at Jacksonville.
Steelers. Darren Perry, Pittsburgh's secondary coach since 2003, resigned after a meeting with new coach Mike Tomlin.
Perry starred at Penn State, then played safety for seven seasons with Pittsburgh after being taken in the eighth round of the 1992 draft. He finished his career with the New Orleans Saints in 2000.
Ken Anderson, a former Bengals quarterback and offensive coordinator, will replace Mark Whipple as the Steelers' quarterbacks coach.
Chargers. Long snapper David Binn was added to the Pro Bowl roster, making him the 11th San Diego player selected for the game.
Binn, the longest-tenured Chargers player, with 13 seasons, will be playing in his first Pro Bowl. He has played in a team-record 207 straight games.
Bills. Buffalo signed offensive lineman Kirk Chambers.
Texans. Houston hired Frank Bush as senior defensive assistant.
Future Bowl. Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach was selected to chair an effort to bring a Super Bowl to North Texas.
The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Bid Committee wants the game to be played at the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington in 2011, two years after the venue is scheduled to open.
Bids must be turned in to the NFL by April 2.
Noteworthy. Former Denver Broncos star Terrell Davis has settled his lawsuit against an insurance company stemming from a scuffle at an Emmy Awards party, his attorney said.
Davis sued Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. in September for breach of contract over its refusal to defend him in a lawsuit related to a tussle at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
Davis claims he was roughed up by two bouncers during a party at the hotel's Tropicana Bar in October 2005.
