Sports in Brief: Malvern Prep falls at Henley Royal Regatta
Malvern Prep's four-man team of Jim Sincavage, Chris Frey, Jimmy McManus, and J.P. Clark fell to a team from the Windsor Boys' School in the first round of the Fawley Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta on the River Thames in Henley-on-Thames, England, on Wednesday. The Windsor Boys team will face Northwich Rowing Club on Thursday.

COLLEGES Imhotep Charter's D.J. Moore, a sure-handed and athletic wide receiver, committed to play football at Maryland. The 6-foot, 200-pound senior also had scholarship offers from Connecticut, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Temple, among others.
Downingtown East graduate Brandon Feamster, a cornerback and outside linebacker, committed to play at Duke beginning next year. The 6-3, 200-pounder, who played in the Big 33 Football Classic last month, will do a postgraduate year at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut.
Roman Catholic's Gemil Holbrook, a 6-5 senior wing guard, committed to play basketball at Rider. He also drew interest from Fairleigh Dickinson, LIU-Brooklyn, and St. Peter's.
GOLF The USGA announced Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield (Union County), N.J., will host the U.S. Junior Amateur in July 2018. Baltusrol's Upper Course will be used for stroke-play qualifying and match play, while the Lower Course will be the companion stroke-play course.
The tournament will be the 16th USGA championship hosted at the course, which has been the home to the U.S. Open seven times.
Samuel Henry "Errie" Ball, 103, who played in the first Masters, died Wednesday. Ball's daughter, Leslie Adams Gogerty, said her father died at Martin Hospital South in Stuart, Fla. The English golf pro was a PGA of America member for 83 years, which the organization said is a membership record.
Ball played in 1934 the first Augusta National Invitation Tournament, which later became the Masters.
TENNIS The USTA's charitable foundation, USTA Serves, awarded Legacy Youth Tennis and Education in Philadelphia a $12,500 grant. Legacy Youth Tennis and Education works to help children in the city, Camden, and Chester become responsible, active citizens.
