Villanova's impressive win at Lehigh on Saturday, combined with Montana's upset loss, propelled the Wildcats back to The Sports Network's No. 1 ranking in Division I-AA.

The Wildcats (1-1), TSN's preseason No. 1, slipped to second following a last-second loss to I-A Temple in the season opener.

Montana's hold on the No. 1 ranking was short-lived thanks to a 35-33 loss at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. Montana dropped to sixth.

Villanova, which hosts Towson on Saturday, received 74 first-place votes.

Delaware (2-0) beat then-No. 9 South Dakota State on Saturday and moved up five spots to No. 11. The Blue Hens host Duquesne Saturday. Penn, which opens its season Saturday against visiting Lafayette, was ranked 27th.
