Brandon Austin will play at Kansas JUCO

Brandon Austin, a former Imhotep Charter basketball star who was suspended from two colleges in six months amid sexual assault allegations, will play at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, according to his lawyer, Laura Fine Morrow.

Austin, 20, has not been charged in either case.

Austin, a 6-foot-6 guard, was one of the country's top high school players in the 2012-13 season but has not played a college game yet.

Providence College suspended Austin and teammate Rodney Bullock in November after a sexual assault investigation. In late December, the college announced that the two freshmen would miss the entire season. Austin transferred to Oregon less than two weeks later. Bullock remains at Providence. Neither player was charged.

Austin redshirted at Oregon in January and would have been eligible to play in December. He was dismissed from the team in May after police investigated a rape allegation made by a female student against Austin and sophomore teammates Damyean Dotson and Dominic Artis.

The university announced last month that the players were banned from campus for up to 10 years. Austin is the first to find a new college.

The Lane County (Ore.) District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against the three men, citing insufficient evidence.

Austin led Imhotep to PIAA Class AAA and Public League titles in 2013. He committed to Providence before his senior year, choosing the Friars over scholarship offers from Miami, Rutgers, Syracuse, and UCLA. He had orally committed to Penn State earlier but changed his mind.

ESPN rated Austin as a four-star recruit and ranked him No. 56 in the Class of 2013.

Hutchinson is a JUCO power that finished 26-8 last season.
