Penn State receives pledge from Maryland defensive tackle

Penn State has picked up its 22nd oral commitment for the freshman class of 2018, receiving a pledge from 6-foot-4, 292-pound defensive tackle P.J. Mustipher of Owings Mills, Md.

Mustipher, who plays for McDonogh School, is ranked four stars by 247Sports and Scout, two recruiting web sites. He is ranked as the nation's No. 6 defensive tackle by 247Sports and No. 8 by Scout.

Mustipher, the third defensive lineman in Penn State's 2018 class, also received offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Miami, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.
