Kari Jonsson, a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard from Iceland has left the Drexel team and won't be playing for the Dragons.

"It just unfolded and he is returning home and I think he will have a very good professional career and I wish him the best," Drexel coach Zach Spiker said before Friday's practice.

Last season for Drexel, Jonsson appeared in 28 games, with 21 starts. He shot 43.6 percent from three-point range, which led the Colonial Athletic Association. Jonsson shot 82.9 percent from the foul line and averaged 10.1 points per game.

Drexel has depth at the guard position, but will miss the perimeter threat that Jonsson provided. The top three returning scorers are guards – sophomore Kurk Lee (14.9 ppg.), and seniors Sammy Mojica (11.2 ppg.) and Miles Overton (9.5 ppg.).

In addition, the Dragons will be bolstered by two transfers who are eligible, juniors Tramaine Isabell from Missouri and Troy Harper from Campbell. Both sat out last season due to NCAA transfer rules.
