SENECA WALLACE

Who: The Packers' quarterback starting in place of Aaron Rodgers on Sunday against the visiting Eagles.

Age: 33. Born: Aug. 6, 1980, in Sacramento, Calif.

Height: 5-11. Weight: 205.

Years pro: 10.

College: Iowa State.

How acquired: Signed as a free agent on Sept. 2, 2013.

This year: Saw his first action of the season in Monday's loss to the Bears. He went 11-for-19 for 114 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. Wallace also absorbed four sacks.

Well-traveled: Wallace was selected by Seattle in the fourth round of the 2003 draft. He was traded to Cleveland in 2010 and was out of football last season. He spent time this year in the New Orleans and San Francisco organizations before latching on with the Packers. He was given the backup job to Aaron Rodgers when Green Bay cut Vince Young on Aug. 31.

Career highlights: Wallace is 6-15 as a starter, including a 26-7 loss to the Eagles in 2008. Wallace hit Koren Robinson with a 90-yard TD pass on the opening drive for the longest offensive play in Seahawks' history ... Wallace played some wide receiver earlier in his career, and made a terrific catch that set up a touchdown in the 2005 NFC Championship Game for Seattle. He did not appear in the subsequent Super Bowl, which the Seahawks lost to Pittsburgh.

Triviality: The last quarterback to start for the Packers against the Eagles before Rodgers and Brett Favre was Don Majkowski in the 1991 season opener. (The game is best remembered for a catastrophic knee injury suffered by Eagles QB Randall Cunningham.) The Eagles were 8-5 overall against Favre (including 1-0 in postseason) and are 0-2 overall against Rodgers (0-1 playoffs).
