Super Bowl 2018: Patriots WR Brandin Cooks ruled out with head injury
Brandin Cooks is out after Malcolm Jenkins hit in second quarter.
MINNEAPOLIS — Early in the second quarter, New England quarterback Tom Brady took a hit and still managed to find speedy receiver Brandin Cooks for a 23-yard gain, to the Eagles' 40. Cooks caught the ball, looked around him, and before he could duck, took a vicious hit from Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins.
Cooks was attended to on the field. He eventually stood up and walked off, but the Patriots eventually announced he would not return, presumably because he had suffered a concussion.
Cooks caught 65 passes for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season.
The drive died when the Pats went for it on fourth down and couldn't convert, at the Eagles' 35.
