Though Sergei Bobrovsky has played like the Flyers' top goalie, coach Peter Laviolette made it clear that Ilya Bryzgalov is still his No. 1.

"I don't use numbers - you know that," Laviolette said when asked who his No. 1 was after Monday's practice in Voorhees. "Now Bryz has gotten a majority of the starts. I don't know if that answers your question or not. . . . Bryz was brought here to be a horse, and he's received a majority of the games. I don't see that changing."

That means Bryzgalov figures to start Tuesday against visiting Minnesota.

Bryzglaov is 16-10-3 with a 3.07 goals-against average and .891 save percentage.

Bobrovsky is 10-3-1 with a 2.42 GAA and .921 save percentage.

Couturier streaking

Rookie center Sean Couturier brings a four-game goal-scoring streak into Tuesday. His latest goal was scored after he was inserted onto a line with Wayne Simmonds and Matt Read on Saturday in Nashville.

"I think what's been impressive about his last few games is his shot in general," Laviolette said. "The goals he's scored, they're goal-scorer's goals. He's showed poise and patience, and then when he released it, he released it on the money."

Couturier has nine goals, and he entered Monday tied for No. 1 among NHL rookies at plus-12. The 19-year-old's father, Sylvain, scored four goals in 33 career games with the Los Angeles Kings.

Breakaways

Feisty winger Zac Rinaldo was hit in the mouth and left the ice during Monday's practice, but general manager Paul Holmgren said he would be available to play Tuesday. . . . Center Blair Betts, sidelined all season by a knee injury, skated before practice again and said he hopes to play this season. . . . Minnesota's Darroll Powe, a former Flyer, has three goals and five assists. . . . Left winger Dany Heatley leads Minnesota with 13 goals, and right winger Cal Clutterbuck is second in the NHL with 166 hits. . . . The Wild's Josh Harding made a career-high 47 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss to St. Louis on Saturday.
