Tip for Tiger: Don't be stingy
TIGER WOODS is No. 1 again. Not for his golfing ability, but for being the worst tipping celebrity, according to ratings done by the Miami New Times.
TIGER WOODS is No. 1 again. Not for his golfing ability, but for being the worst tipping celebrity, according to ratings done by the Miami New Times.
According to the publication's blog "Short Order," Woods has a good reason for being a notoriously poor tipper: He never carries cash.
He's also known as being cheap, despite his $500 million net worth. Vanity Fair has reported that he took one of his mistresses to dinner, buying her a chicken wrap from Subway.
The New Times report gives examples of Woods' cheapness, including an entry from a "List of the Day" blog that said once, while at a casino, he "pulled a mulligan on a $5 tip, repocketing the money meant for a waitress after realizing he had tipped her earlier in the evening."
Tiger wasn't the only athlete on the New Times list. Heat star LeBron James checked in at No. 4. James, who has a net worth of $120 million reportedly once left a $10 tip for an $800 bill at a Cleveland steakhouse.
Easy verdict
We'd love to be the judge that decides the lawsuit filed by Brent Loveland against Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy and his wife.
Loveland claims he was fired from a construction job at the Gundy's home because he showed up wearing a rival Oklahoma University shirt. According to Loveland, Mike Gundy said the shirt offended his wife and fired him.
Loveland, who is seeking $10,000 in damages, claims he dressed in the dark and didn't know he had on an OU shirt.
Here's the thing: If Gundy's wife was truly offended by the shirt, she's a moron. Loveland, on the other hand, is a nitwit for wearing the shirt.
Case dismissed.
Super cops
The Green Bay Police Department has a new motto: To Protect and Serve and Promote the Packers.
Well, not really. But officers are now allowed to exchange their regular badges for ones commemorating the Packers' 2010 Super Bowl title. The badge features the team's logo and the words "Titletown USA" and "Super Bowl Champions XLV."
