Field hockey players win honors
Five players from Merion Mercy, the runner-up in the PIAA Class AA playoffs, have won all-state honors from the Pennsylvania High School Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Five players from Merion Mercy, the runner-up in the PIAA Class AA playoffs, have won all-state honors from the Pennsylvania High School Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Seniors Allison Moran and Kimmy Keating and junior Tori Romvary received first-team honors after leading the Golden Bears to the final, which they lost to Wyoming Seminary, 3-2.
Junior Keira Zambon and sophomore Sarah Hospodar made the second team.
Central Bucks South, which made it to the Class AAA semifinals before losing to Hershey, 4-1, also had five players win state honors.
Seniors Sarah Hasson and Julia Goldsworthy made the first team, while seniors Gretchen Kempf and Ally Bradley took second-team honors. Sophomore Madison Harding received an honorable mention.
Six area players were named to the National Field Hockey Association's Mideast Region team: Adelle Lever of Wissahickon, Brittany Gryzwacz of Methacton, Rachel Magerman of Germantown Academy, Molly Murphy of Villa Maria Academy, Jenna Phillips of Hatboro-Horsham, and Julia Reinprecht of Mount St. Joseph.

First team: Christopher Dock-Brianna Schwoyer, Brittany Moyer, Kelby Bolton; Upper Perkiomen-Tabitha Hatch; Villa Maria-Sera Berlacher, Molly Murphy, Katie Briglia, Olivia Maggitti, Marie Elena Bolles.
Second team:
Christopher Dock-Adriana Santiago; Upper Perkiomen-Cassidy Arner.
Honorable mention:
Upper Perkiomen-Paula Heimbach, Leah High; Villa Maria-Catherine Ostoich, Anna Zarkoski; Jenkintown-Alexa Clappier.
