Friday's Pennsylvania roundup: Haverford edges Germantown Friends in OT

Highlights from Friday's sports in Pennsylvania.

Griffin Wada scored the game-winning goal in overtime on Friday to lead the Haverford School boys' soccer team to a 1-0 win against Germantown Friends. The Fords face Episcopal Academy on Tuesday in the PAISSA quarterfinals.

Episcopal Academy scored all three goals in the first half to top Westtown, 3-0, in the PAISSA tournament opening round. Sam Wilson scored twice and Declan McCarthy added a goal in the win.

Andrew Morris scored the only goal of the match in the first half to lead Penn Charter to a 1-0 win against Shipley in the first round of PAISSA play. Jude Shorr-Parks picked up the assist and Kyle Earley made two saves in the win. Penn Charter faces Chestnut Hill in Tuesday's quarterfinals.

Field Hockey

Annie McDonough scored twice to lead Unionville to a 6-1 win against Central Bucks South in the District 1 Class 3A fifth place game. Maggie Lawrence, Madi Holt, Claire Donovan and KT Anderson added a goal apiece in the win.
Liz Fox, Abriana Gatto and AiYi Young each scored to lift Upper Perkiomen to a 3-2 win against Great Valley in the District 1 Class 2A third place match. Kate Dinsmore and Tessa Liberatoscioli/Liburatosscolli scored for Great Valley in the loss.

Girls’ Soccer

Annie Peterson tallied a pair of goals to lead Germantown Academy to a 7-0 rout against George School in the first round of the PAISSA tournament. Ally Clark, Bailey Gilmore, Paige Lugosy, Mac Pluck and JT Sarinsky also score for the Patriots. Germantown Academy faces Westtown on Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
