Friday's South Jersey roundup: Danielle Donoghue lifts Ocean City girls
Highlights from Friday's sports in South Jersey.
Danielle Donoghue scored 22 points Friday to lift the Ocean City girls' basketball team past visiting Middle Township, 47-43, in double overtime. Kilie Wyers chipped in 12 points for the Red Raiders in the win. Kate Herlihy scored 15 points, and Kira Sides added 10 for Middle Township in the loss.
Elaina Hansen scored 38 points, and Julia Michael hit three shots from beyond the arc to lead Clearview past Wildwood, 66-42. Michael finished the game with 18 points. Maddie McCracken tallied 35 points and added 14 rebounds for visiting Wildwood.
Kate Deutsch scored 25 points as host Camden Catholic topped Eastern, 57-36, while Eliana Santana added 12 points for the Irish.
Katie Morrison scored 15 points and chipped in 6 rebounds as Deptford edged GCIT, 49-47. Leah Giles added 11 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals for the Spartans.
Boys’ Basketball
West Deptford got 27 points from Tommy Sampson as the Golden Eagles edged Collingswood, 53-49, in Colonial Conference action. Jaden Wallace led host Collingswood with 19 points.
Aaron Estrada scored 23 points to help Woodbury to a 46-28 win against host Audubon.
Brian Burns scored 26 points, and Eric Shuttleworth added 17 points as visiting Haddon Township topped Lindenwold, 58-39. Darnell Nichols scored 17 points to lead the hosts.
