Monday's South Jersey roundup: Northern Burlington tops Burlington Township on Josh Jackson's buzzer-beater

Highlights from Monday's postseason action in South Jersey.

Jessica Beck scored 17 points Monday to lead No. 11 Gloucester Tech to a 49-44 upset win against No. 6 Camden County Tech in the opening round of South Group 3 play. It was the first playoff win in school history for the Cheetahs. Beck finished with four rebounds, five assists and two steals.

In other South Group 3 action, Glory Morton tallied 23 points Monday to lead Delsea to a 61-55 win against Deptford at home. Wykira Johnson-Kelly chipped in 16 points in the Crusaders' win. Danielle Donoghue posted a game-high 18 points as Ocean City toppled visiting Toms River South, 55-31. Emily Donzanti scored 17 points for the Indians in the loss.

Shavonne Smith poured in 31 points to help Pemberton to a 52-29 win in the first round of Central Group 3 play. Brianna Fritz and Hailey Russell combined for 47 points to send Riverside to a 75-24 win against visiting Somerset Tech in Central Group 1 play.

Maddie McCracken led the way for host Wildwood as the Warriors edged Buena, 48-30, in the opening round of South Group 1 action. Jenna Hans and Tracey Young scored 12 points apiece in the Warriors' win.

Brittany Garner dropped 29 points as Winslow Township toppled visiting Lacey Township, 71-35. Allie Toth and Hayley Ocskasy led the way for visitors with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Boys’ Basketball

Josh Jackson hit a buzzer beater to give host Northern Burlington a 55-52 win against Burlington Township in the opening round of Central Group 3 action. Jackson finished with 28 points to become the fifth player in school history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark. Wesley Robinson finished with 15 points and JohnPaul Oluwadare added 12 in the Falcons' loss.

Jabril Enmond posted 22 points to lift host Florence past Dunellen, 75-47, in a Central Group 1 first round playoff contest. Nick Hazel added 18 points in the win.

Malik Muriel poured in 30 points as Palmyra edged visiting Clayton, 104-91, in the opening round of South Group 1 action. Faraji Robinson posted 26 points while Steven McKoy added 20 for the Panthers. Max Cruz led the way for the visitors with 22 points. Dorian DePina finished with 18 and Mahir Yilmaz posted 16 in the Clippers' loss.

In other South Group 1 action, Haddon Township topped visiting Woodstown, 55-35. Brian Burns scored 20 points while Eric Shuttleworth chipped in 12 for Haddon Township.

Kavon Lewis dropped 35 points to lead all scorers and lift Penns Grove to an 85-65 win against visiting Salem. Gage Ausland led Salem with 19 points.

Host Glassboro got a 22-point performance from Kyree Myers and 19 points from Anthony Mitchell to topple Buena. Rob Kinlow led Buena with 12 points in the loss.

Devon Murray and Kameron Johnson combined for 22 points to help No. 11 Winslow Township upset sixth-seeded host Hammonton, 62-34, in the first round of South Group 3 play. The Eagles got balance scoring with 10 players on the scoresheet.

In other South Group 3 play, host Ocean City earned a 70-44 win against Camden County Tech. Tom Jamison led the Red Raiders with 17 points and Donovan Graham chipped in 14.
