MLK's Angus switches to West Virginia

Everything changed, Martin Luther King offensive tackle Dontae Angus said, when the University of Florida fired offensive-line coach and area recruiting coordinator Tim Davis at the end of last season's 4-8 showing.

"I had my heart set on Florida, but I lost all contact with them after that happened," said the 6-foot-6, 328-pound senior, who committed to the Gators in July. "I never heard from them again."

Forced to switch gears late in the recruitment process, Angus visited West Virginia last weekend and committed to the Mountaineers on Wednesday, national signing day.

"The people at West Virginia really welcomed me and my mom [Jounieta Williams], and they were real with us," Angus said. "That meant a lot to me."

King coach Ed Dunn said Angus, who previously attended now-closed Germantown, also received strong interest from Michigan State.

Angus, the No. 25 prospect in the state, according to Rivals.com, said of Morgantown: "There are a lot of hills there, but I can dig it."
