Nasir Peoples and Adrian Lambert rushed for two touchdowns apiece Saturday as Archbishop Wood dominated Wyoming Valley West, 41-14, in the PIAA Class 5A football quarterfinals.

Peoples' 16-yard touchdown run between the tackles put the Vikings on the board early in the first quarter. His second touchdown was a 49-yard scamper to open the second half, breaking several tackles on his way to the end zone. Lambert's scores came from 19 and 30 yards out.

"They're big parts of our offense," Wood head coach Steve Devlin said. "They're special with the ball in their hands, but a lot of credit goes to our offensive line."

Jack Colyar connected with Kyle Pitts with 22 seconds remaining in the half for a 37-yard touchdown strike to give Archbishop Wood a 21-point lead at the break.

The Vikings forced and recovered two fumbles in the first half, blocked a field goal attempt and held the Spartans to 80 yards of total offense.

Archbishsop Wood will square off against Unionville in the state semifinals for the third straight season. The Indians are the reigning District 1 champions after beating Springfield (D), 35-25, on Friday.

"At this point, everybody's good, and they've had a great year and are well-coached," Devlin said of the Indians. "We'll have to start preparing for them tomorrow and get ready for a great game."
