Not guilty plea from Dykstra

LENNY DYKSTRA pleaded not guilty yesterday to possession of human growth hormone and Ecstasy and to operating a large auto fraud scheme.

LENNY DYKSTRA pleaded not guilty yesterday to possession of human growth hormone and Ecstasy and to operating a large auto fraud scheme.

Dykstra, 48, entered the plea during an arraignment hearing in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The former Mets and Phillies star was charged in June with 25 counts of grand theft auto, filing false financial statements and possessing a controlled substance. In July, a judge ordered Dykstra to stand trial on the charges along with his accountant, Robert Hymers, and co-defendant, Christopher Gavanais.

Prosecutors allege that the men leased high-end automobiles from dealerships using fraudulent information and claiming credit through a phony business called Home Free Systems. If convicted, Dykstra faces up to 12 years in state prison.
