POSITION: Right guard

HEIGHT, WEIGHT: 6-0, 350

AGE: 24 BIRTHDATE: July 28, 1984

HOMETOWN: Lawton, Okla.

COLLEGE: New Mexico State

YEARS PRO: 3 (all with Eagles)

HOW ACQUIRED: Signed as a rookie free agent in 2006. He is not related to Eagles defensive lineman Trent Cole.

THIS YEAR: A backup center, Cole played all 14 games and started the last two at right guard in place of Max Jean-Gilles.

FAVORITE ATHLETE: Former Chiefs offensive lineman Will Shields, a 12-time Pro Bowler and likely Hall of Famer from Lawton, who retired after the 2006 season.

WELCOME TO THE NFL MOMENT: "When I got my first check," he said, laughing. Cole's contract is up after this year.

FIRST SIGNIFICANT PURCHASE: "I had to buy myself a car. My '88 box Chevy wasn't cutting it."

COLE SCENE INVESTIGATION: Is a big fan of television crime shows, particularly "CSI: Miami." "I like watching those shows because of the suspense. They keep you watching until the end. I like shows that make you think a little bit."

FAVORITE ATHLETIC MOMENT: Picked up a fumble as a sophomore in college and returned it 15 yards before being tackled by the shoestrings. (Hey, he's an offensive lineman.)

DID YOU KNOW? Lawton also is the hometown of Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of "SpongeBob SquarePants."
