Nets want their Phil

The Bulls aren't the only team trying to lure Phil Jackson away from the Lakers. ESPN.com reports the Nets are interested in making Jackson their coach.

Jackson's first coaching experience came with the Nets from 1978-80, when he was a player-assistant under Kevin Loughery.

The Nets acknowledge that landing Jackson is a long shot, but new owner Mikhail Prokhorov is determined to make a splashy coaching hire.

D-Wade in the box

Dwyane Wade finally got his chance to play offense in his $25 million breach-of-contract trial.

The Miami Heat star spent about two hours Tuesday answering questions from his attorney in the trial where two of Wade's former business partners are suing for damages over a failed restaurant deal. The case will resume Thursday before taking a four-day recess. Wade is due in Chicago for another hearing in his ongoing divorce and custody battle; he is seeking sole custody of his two sons.

'Sheed's shoes

According to a report on Yahoo! Sports, the Celtics' Rasheed Wallace was wearing Nike Sharkalaids instead of his trademark AF1s at the beginning of Monday's game. It was the first time in more than 10 years that the former Simon Gratz star had taken the court in anything but Nike's first air-soled basketball shoe.

Apparently confused by the extra strap and comfortable padding, he changed back into some all-white Air Force 1s for the second half. Just to ensure fans were aware that he was the same old Rasheed, he got a technical in his AF1s.
