Hawks hire Malik Rose for front-office job

Malik Rose is leaving his job as 76ers television analyst for a front-office job with the Atlanta Hawks. The 13-year NBA veteran was named the Hawks' manager of basketball operations on Tuesday.

The 13-year NBA veteran was named the Hawks' manager of basketball operations on Tuesday.

A native Philadelphian and former Drexel star, Rose spent the last four seasons at the color commentator for Sixers telecasts on Comcast SportsNet.

Rose, 40, was selected in the second round of the 1996 draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He is known more for his 71/2 seasons with the Spurs in San Antonio, where he won NBA titles in 1999 and 2003.
