Kevin Hart tried to sneak onstage with the Lombardi Trophy after Eagles win because he was drunk
Video shows Kevin Hart trying to get a little too close to the Lombardi Trophy.
As Philadelphians flooded the City of Brotherly Love's streets to party in the name of the Eagles' win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII on Sunday, Philly native Kevin Hart brought a similarly sloppy celebration to Minneapolis.
Following the Birds' 41-33 victory, Hart attempted to follow the Vince Lombardi Trophy onstage at U.S. Bank Stadium as Darrel Green went to present it to the team. As a clip shows, however, a security guard denied Hart entry onto the stage to join the celebration as Green shouldered by the comedian:
Hart later appeared on the NFL Network during postgame interviews, where he dropped an F-bomb on live television alongside Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. Following the expletive, Hart excused himself from the show:
Hart later addressed his behavior via his social media, posting a video to Instagram in which he encouraged his young fans to not drink because "when alcohol is in your system, you do dumb stuff."
"To all the kids out there, I just want to say: Don't drink," Hart said in the clip. "Me trying to go on stage with the trophy is definitely in the top two stupidest things I've ever done."
Hart added in the clip that his wife, model Eniko Parrish, warned him to not try to get onstage with the Lombardi Trophy, but the comedian didn't listen.
"I said, 'Chill out, I got to be up there with my city,'" Hart said. "It didn't work out."
He added that the security guard who stopped him from going onstage knew who he was, but refused him entry all the same.
"The man did his job," Hart said.
Don't, however, expect an apology from the Philly native any time soon. After all, it was the Birds' first Super Bowl victory ever, so a little chaos is to be expected.
"Who gives a s—?," Hart said. "Go Eagles! Fly Eagles Fly! F — it!"
