This year's Broad Street Run is the first since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the Philadelphia region, and much of the nation and world last year. About 17,000 racers who submitted proof of vaccination were expected run the 10 miles in person, and 1,500 would participate virtually. In past years, runners have numbered nearly 40,000.
