Temple University held a memorial tribute on Tuesday for the architect behind some of the country's most prestigious collections of African American artifacts. His family had a private funeral service for him when he died in June, but Temple waited until the new school semester started to honor him publicly.
Blockson was founder and curator emeritus of both the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University and the Charles L. Blockson Collection of African-Americana and the African Diaspora at Penn State University.
