After the original recital for Sound Space Performing Arts was canceled due to coronavirus restrictions, studio director Pamela Hetherington extended the spring session of dance classes for six weeks to accommodate an outdoor performance. This is the first time Hetherington put on an outdoor show like this, but she performed in many while growing up in Philadelphia. "We can't not have the arts," she said. "We need music and dance more than ever."

Evelyn Clee, 4, teacher Michaela Clovis, Elle Young, 3, Evelyn Rockett, 5, and Elea Portier, 4, perform during the Sound Space Performing Arts' third annual Spring Musicale outside at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center in Philadelphia, Pa. When the studio closed due to coronavirus restrictions in Philadelphia, director Pamela Hetherington immediately started online classes. In the last few weeks they were able to move some classes outside, on the sidewalk near their Brewerytown studio.
