A new temporary “terminal” for intercity buses begins operation on Thursday, on Spring Garden Street at Columbus Boulevard, near the Delaware River waterfront
The relocation of the unpopular curbside bus station near Independence Mall came after the city acted to address safety concerns and congestion issues for SEPTA bus routes. “The volume and nature of complaints leave the situation at 6th and Market Streets completely untenable,” Mike Carroll, deputy managing director for the Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability, said.
