On Sunday afternoon May 16, 2021, Jackie Lithgow, 26, of Carlisle, graduated from Bloomsburg University. A miraculous accomplishment for the young man who suffered a traumatic brain injury during his freshman year in 2014. "Jackie is hope," said Dr. Susan Baro, a trauma surgeon at Geisinger Medical Center.

Jackie Lithgow’s recovery is a miracle. During his freshman year at Bloomsburg University, he suffered severe head trauma which nearly claimed his life while trying to break up a fight. Against many odds, he graduated from college on Sunday May 16, 2021 at Bloomsburg University. His raises his arms at a post-graduation picnic celebration.
