The parade celebrates the history and culture of the Polish American community and also marks the 415th anniversary of the first Polish settlers in this county. They arrived in Virginia in October, 1608, invited by Captain John Smith to establish a glass industry in the Jamestown Colony, 12 years before the Pilgrims.
