Doane Academy, a Burlington City school established in 1837, reopened its campus for the first day of school on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020. In keeping with tradition, the senior class canoed across the Delaware River from Bristol to meet awaiting parents. Normally the entire school would be there to cheer the students, but due to the coronavirus, spectators were limited to adhere to social distancing.
