In a statement issued Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, Kenney said, “It has been the honor and privilege of a lifetime to serve as the mayor of this great city,” as he welcomed Mayor-elect Cherelle Parker, who will be sworn into office Tuesday. In an exit interview with The Inquirer, Kenney said he hoped he’d be remembered as “someone who cared.”
