Logan Ford and Jordan Demcher had been living in Fairmount before buying the three-bedroom, 1 ½-bath Colonial in 2020.

They wanted to leave the heart of the city then, Ford recalled, but she said “we weren’t ready to move to the suburbs.”

They saw Chestnut Hill as a good compromise, close to the commerce of Germantown Avenue and the Wyndmoor Regional Rail station and its easy access to Center City and the Sports Complex, and the house is on a quiet street.

Now, work and sentiment are drawing them and their three children to Springfield, Delaware County.

For Demcher, who works in online sports media, it’s his hometown and he will also coach lacrosse.

Ford will teach high school chemistry and also coach track.

The Chestnut Hill house is located across from Water Tower Recreational Center and is within walking distance of pickleball courts, but Demcher, an avid player, said it gets very little noise.

There are hardwood floors throughout, and the living room has built-in bookcases and a large picture window with a view of the park.

The kitchen has ample counter space and connects to the dining area/breakfast room.

The bedrooms are on the second floor, and each has spacious closets. The tiled hall bath has a skylight.

The partially finished basement has built-ins and a laundry room, and there is a garage on the basement level in addition to a private alley.

The roof and skylight date to 2017, the AC/compressor to 2020.

The house was built in 1955 and total square footage is 1,178.

It is listed by Suzi King of Keller Williams — Media for $435,000.
