The decision on which house to buy is usually based on price, location, and the home itself, but in Cierrah Doran’s case it was also an omen.

The house number, 1027, happened to be her lifelong lucky number. So when she and her sister, Cateris, saw there would be an open house on Easter Sunday 2022, they went to see the place and the decision was made.

“It was hard finding a fit for both of us,” said Cierrah, a third-year medical student at Thomas Jefferson University. But now the location no longer suits both her and Cateris, a marketing coordinator at a civil engineering firm, so they are returning to their native South Jersey.

But living in Center City was fun while it lasted. Cierrah speaks fondly of the walkability of the neighborhood, the restaurants close by, the pickleball courts, and even the dog park, although the sisters are canine-free. “It’s a lively little pocket of the city,” she said.

The 1,672-square-foot house’s living room features a fireplace and an oversize window. The dining area can accommodate a table for six, and the kitchen has granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and a large pantry.

The lower level also includes a storage and mechanical room and the washer and dryer.

The second floor has a bedroom that would also work as an office, and another with a view of Seger Park.

The primary suite is on the third floor, with vaulted ceilings, a dressing area with built-in shelving, and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower and dual sinks.

The house has hardwood floors throughout. The sellers are having a new roof installed.

It is listed by Kevin Wilkins of BHHS Fox & Roach Center City for $738,000.
