House of the week: A 15-year-old house with 18th-century style in Chester County for $1.39 million
The house was built in 2010, and underwent extensive renovations after the current owners bought it in 2021.

For the last few years, Noel and Robert Stanek have made a hobby of building new houses and renovating old ones, selling them, and moving on to the next project.
Before their retirement, Robert was CEO of a health-care system, Noel in nonprofit consulting. Their 21st house together is a three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom home in Olde Bulltown Village in Elverson, Chester County.
The houses are all patterned after 18th-century mansions, reminiscent of Colonial Williamsburg, Va. Residents generally have the houses built from scratch and customized to some extent, particularly the interior, as long as they stay within certain parameters.
The Staneks’ 3,545-square-foot house was built in 2010 as a model. They bought it in 2021 and spent 18 months on extensive renovations, including a new room and a porch.
Despite the 18th-century style, “there are a lot of modern conveniences,” Robert said.
These include new Wolf and Sub-Zero kitchen appliances, and a new geothermal unit.
Locally quarried stone was used for much of the construction, and the new room has a French door walkout and reclaimed barnwood ceiling.
The lowest of the home’s three levels is half below ground and half above, with a gathering room with surround sound, a bedroom, and full bathroom.
The main floor has the living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, and primary bedroom suite.
The upper floor has a bedroom and loft. The home also has a detached two-car garage with storage space above.
The house overlooks the French Creek Club golf course. As for the Staneks, Noel said, “I think we have one more house in us.”
It is listed by Keith DeWalt of Stoltzfus Realtors for $1,390,000.
