To call Cheryl Goldstein’s purchase of the 1,352-square-foot condo in Old City a lucky coincidence might be an understatement.

She was renting an Old City condo when the owners said they were converting the building to short-term rentals. Looking for a more stable situation, she found that the National Condominiums development, a gated community nearby, was no longer allowing short-term rentals. One owner, who had been renting out their place, put it on the market.

“I lucked out,” Goldstein, a veterinarian, said. “I’ve always loved Old City.”

She bought the three-bedroom, two-bath unit in 2019. Then she met Joe Wadsworth, they got married, and he moved in.

The couple already have a dog and a cat, and they’re now thinking of adding to the family. So Goldstein and Wadsworth, who works in hospital IT and part-time as a real estate agent, moved to Pennsport for more space.

The Old City unit features vinyl plank floors throughout, large windows, and a Juliet balcony with a view of the courtyard.

The bathrooms and kitchen were renovated since Goldstein moved in — a series of prior short-term occupants had left the unit needing some improvements.

The kitchen has quartz countertops and high-end appliances.

The primary bedroom has a large walk-in closet and a spa-like en-suite bathroom with top-of-the-line fixtures.

The condo has a newly installed HVAC unit and comes with a deeded parking space in the garage.

Attractions within walking distance include the Betsy Ross House, the Museum of the American Revolution, and Independence Hall.

The unit is listed by Earnest Key of Key Legacy Realty for $625,000.
