House of the week: A three-bedroom corner unit in Fishtown for $595,000
The home is nearly new, and has both a Juliet balcony and a roof deck with skyline views.
Vi Banh had lived in Fishtown for about six years before finally buying a house there in 2023. She was soon joined by her new husband, Derek Bourne.
But now life has intervened and the couple is moving to King of Prussia, where Banh is a physician assistant in a dermatology practice. Bourne is a corporate recruiter for a home remodeling company in Chester, but “he doesn’t mind driving as much as I do,” Banh jokes.
She and Bourne were engaged when she bought the unit in 2023. Construction was almost finished, and she was able to choose colors and finishes.
It is on the second and third floors of the four-level building and features an open-concept living area, floor-to-ceiling windows on the front, a loft just off the primary bedroom, a Juliet balcony, and a roof deck with skyline views.
The living room has 20-foot ceilings and the unit gets plentiful natural light.
The bathrooms are all spa-style with black matte fixtures, and the kitchen has stainless steel appliances. There are custom window treatments throughout.
The primary bedroom has a walk-in closet and one of the bedrooms has been converted to an office with a sitting area.
Total square footage is 2,100 and nine years remain on the tax abatement.
The home has a dedicated parking space in an adjacent gated lot.
The house is close to Fishtown’s contemporary restaurant scene and the new Anna & Bel hotel. It is just off I-95.
The unit is listed by Sarah Dickinson of Compass Realty for $595,000.
