When she moved into the just-built rowhouse in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia, Victoria Bedell figured she’d be there five to seven years.

It was close to her work as an assistant professor of anesthesiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. And she liked the fact that new families, many of them younger, were moving into the neighborhood.

But a new job in California and a chance to be with family there will have her moving early next year.

She’ll always look back with fondness at her time in Grays Ferry, she said, especially taking in great views of the city and throwing Fourth of July parties on her roof deck.

The builder “paid a lot of attention to detail,” Bedell said. “There’s so much light.”

The four-bedroom, 4½-bathroom end unit is 2,500 square feet and has eight years remaining on the tax abatement.

The living room has a fireplace wall with floor-to-ceiling stone tile.

The dining room has an oak wall and leads into the kitchen, which features top-of-the line Samsung appliances, a marble tile backsplash, granite countertops, Shaker-style cabinets, and an island.

The second floor has two bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, and a laundry room.

The third floor is devoted to the primary suite. Its bathroom has a glass-enclosed shower, wall-mounted vanity, and two walk-in closets.

The landing just below the primary suite has a wet bar with a wine fridge.

There is a half bath under the stairs to the rooftop deck, which offers 360-degree views of the city.

The finished basement has an additional bedroom and bathroom and could be used as an in-law apartment. The house also has a hardwired speaker system throughout, and a large, private backyard.

The home has easy access to University City, Center City, highways, and public transportation.

It is listed by Frank Altamuro of Coldwell Banker Realty for $559,000.
