House of the Week: A 5-bedroom home in Delaware County for $650,000
The home has a two-car garage and a large finished basement.
When Dee Bhattachara was looking for a new house in the suburbs, she literally got in on the ground floor.
Spotting a location she liked in Springfield, Delaware County, with a house in the beginning stages of construction, “I grabbed it as they were starting to build.” So she was able to give considerable input on design decisions.
The medical technologist became the first and only owner, moving into the home in 2001 and raising her family there. Now retired, she is looking to downsize to a senior residence in the area.
The 3,069-square-foot house, which is on a cul-de-sac, has five bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms.
It also has a first-floor family room, a deck, a two-car garage, a large finished basement, a front porch, and a second-floor deck.
The front door leads into an open layout with access to the kitchen, living room, and family room. The living room leads into a formal dining room, which is attached to the kitchen, with an island and double pantry closets.
The primary bedroom is on the second floor, including a bathroom with separate shower and tub and a double vanity with two sinks.
The second floor has three more bedrooms and a hall bath. An additional room, which leads to the deck, could be a fifth bedroom, or be used as an office, workout room, or nursery.
The basement, accessed through the living room, has a bar, powder room, utility area, and unfinished storage space with windows.
The house is listed by Michael Gennett of Keller Williams Real Estate — Media for $650,000.
