House of the week: Three-bedroom condo in Ocean City for $750,000
The three-bedroom, 2½-bath unit is five blocks from the beach and the boardwalk is 3½ miles away.
Ed Regan grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, lived for a time in Glenside, and in his preretirement days owned and operated an auto body shop in Northeast Philadelphia.
But for he and his wife, Linda, the Jersey Shore has long played a big part of their life.
They had co-owned a home in Brigantine with another family and moved to Ocean City in 1991, Ed said, attracted by the family atmosphere there, while keeping a permanent residence in Cherry Hill.
But now they’re looking for something smaller.
The three-bedroom, 2½-bath unit is half of a twin home and suitable for year-round use as a residence or rental. It is five blocks from the beach, was built in 1983, and has a total square footage of 1,440.
The condo is in a quiet area — “far from the craziness,” Ed said — but close enough to the action on the Boardwalk.
The kitchen has new vinyl flooring, a three-year-old fridge, quartz countertops, top-of-the-line appliances, and ample storage space. The first floor has an open layout with the kitchen visible from the dining area.
There is also new wood flooring in the front hallway, a new front door, and a new HVAC system designed for maximum energy efficiency. One of the bedrooms has served as a haven for visiting Regan grandchildren.
The deck is accessible from the rear of the house and the primary bedroom.
The boardwalk is 3½ miles away.
The unit is listed by Big Ed Regan (the seller’s son) of Coldwell Banker Realty for $750,000.
