House of the week: A rowhouse with rooftop views in Point Breeze for $585,000
The house, built in 2018, has five years remaining on the tax abatement, dual-zoned AC, and hard-wired Internet.
To Kathryn Wolf and Ben Horn, the Point Breeze house seemed perfect. The rooftop views were exciting, they loved walking in nearby neighborhoods like Rittenhouse Square and the Italian Market, and the huge kitchen let them indulge a joint hobby of cooking together, or entertaining friends.
Wolf, who runs a consumer analytics program for a major retailer, notes that the lot is larger than most of those nearby. “We thought we’d stay forever,” said Horn.
But this is the mobile economy of the 21st century, and a job offer for Horn, a cardiologist, has them headed for Boston.
The house, built in 2018, has five years remaining on the tax abatement, dual-zoned AC, and hardwired internet.
There are wide-planked hardwood floors throughout, and high ceilings with crown molding. The living room is elevated and has windows fitted with interior shutters for privacy.
The kitchen has granite countertops, soft-close cabinetry, an oversized island wired with electric, and a Frigidaire stainless steel appliance suite with a six-burner gas stove.
Sliding glass doors in the rear of the house lead to the fenced-in patio.
The second floor has two large bedrooms, both with recessed lighting, ceiling fans, and custom, remote-controlled blinds. There is a full bathroom on the floor, along with laundry facilities.
The third-floor landing leads to the roof deck with pilot house and the primary suite. There are two walk-in closets, and the bathroom has a double vanity with granite countertops and a walk-in shower.
The pilot house is wired for audio, water, and electric.
The basement is fully tiled and has a full bathroom with walk-in shower and ample living or storage space.
There is easy access to public transportation. Total square footage is 2,600.
The house is listed by Kathy Krebs of Elfant Wissahickon-Chestnut Hill for $585,000.
