On the market: A three-bedroom townhouse in the Graduate Hospital area for $699,000
The house has a street-level one-car garage and a partially finished basement,.
Since moving to this area from Maryland in the late 1980s, Dave Huting has lived in three different places and is headed for a fourth. But all have been in Philadelphia.
“I’ve loved being in the city,” says Huting, an independent investment adviser. “It’s just been good to me, and I want to stay. My church is in the city.”
Huting bought the 1,919-square-foot townhouse in the Graduate Hospital area in 2006, moving from a condo at 20th and Bainbridge Streets. Now he’s headed for a new development in Upper Roxborough. “I’m just looking for a new experience,” he says.
The house has a street-level one-car garage and a partially finished basement, and Huting says that the open floor plan lends itself to both small-scale and large-scale entertaining.
He uses one of the bedrooms as a study and another as a library. He converted a powder room next to the kitchen into a large pantry but left the plumbing intact so it could be converted back.
The main living area is on the second floor, with an eat-in kitchen with maple cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and tile flooring.
On the top floor, two bedrooms share a full bath complete with a marble-topped vanity, a deep soaking tub, and a glass-enclosed shower. There is also a laundry room.
The basement could be used as a home gym, media room or play room.
And the house is hard-wired with Bose speakers throughout.
It is within walking or biking distance of the University of Pennsylvania, the shops and restaurants along the South Street corridor, a gym, two parks, and the Schuylkill River banks.
The house is listed by Michelle Ashley of Keller Williams Philadelphia for $699,000.
