Property Line: A four-bedroom house on an acre of land in Oaks, Montgomery County
The Bonavitas love entertaining and the expansive kitchen made this easier, with a two-tiered breakfast bar, granite counters, stainless steel appliances and ample cabinet storage.
When Rose and Chris Bonavita bought the four-bedroom, three-bath home in Oaks, it backed up to woods.
“We loved that the house was on a private road and had very little traffic,” says Rose.
“The house was directly across from the elementary school. It had a huge yard so that our son would have plenty of room to run around. And for my husband and me to grow vegetables of all kinds. I developed a love of canning food.”
Then the owners of the woods decided to sell, and put up eight homes on the property.
“It wound up being a great thing because it turned our quiet street into a neighborhood,” she says.
But now it’s time for a different neighborhood, as the Bonavitas head for Florida’s Gulf Coast and warmer weather.
The Bonavitas — Rose is in insurance, Chris in technology sales — love entertaining and the expansive kitchen made this easier, with a two-tiered breakfast bar, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and ample cabinet storage.
The kitchen offers two exterior exits, one to a breezeway leading to a large garage, and one to the rear yard. There is a large deck with a firepit.
The primary bedroom comes with a large walk-in closet and windows overlooking the back yard. Two other bedrooms share a hall bath.
The lower level of the house has a fourth bedroom that can also serve as a home office, and a family room with a gas fireplace.
French doors open to a two-tiered patio connecting to the deck, with a separate keyed entry that makes it suitable for in-law quarters.
The house also has garden areas, new and mature fruit trees and blooming perennials, and is close to Route 422.
It is in the Spring-Ford School District.
It is listed by Joymarie DeFruscio of Keller Williams Realty Group for $450,000.
