Average winter temperatures have warmed by 4.8 degrees in Philly since 1970, says new research

Snow and plunging temperatures are not a thing of the past, but winters have warmed considerably since 1970 in the Northeast, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey, according to data.

A February warm spell encouraged these crocuses to bloom in 2018. When a Nor’easter hit the Philadelphia area in early March, the flowers were covered in snow.
