After the Eagles won the NFC championship on Sunday, securing a trip to the Super Bowl in New Orleans, players celebrated as confetti rained down at Lincoln Financial Field. The festivities continued Tuesday evening across the street at the Wells Fargo Center ahead of the Sixers’ 118-104 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Before the game, Eagles players Darius Slay, Cooper DeJean, and Reed Blankenship — accompanied by eight other players — rang the bell to rally fans in Philadelphia. With the Eagles on the precipice of a Super Bowl appearance, the crowd reacted in celebration with Eagles chants ringing out sporadically throughout the night.

Other players courtside at Tuesday’s game included DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, Avonte Maddox, Jalen Carter, Brandon Graham, Jahan Dotson, Parris Campbell, C.J. Gardner-Johnson and the Eagles chief security officer “Big Dom” DiSandro.

Before the game, future NBA Hall of Famer, four-time champion, and 21-time All-Star LeBron James could be seen showing love to both Brown and Smith courtside. After the game, Slay and Brown could be seen waiting for the star outside of the Lakers locker room. Campbell, who once described his relationship with James “as pretty close” is a fellow graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, in Akron, Ohio.

James is an avid fan of the NFL, partnering with DraftKings to give weekly NFL picks. In addition to being the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer, he’s also recognized as one of the top 100 players in Madden 25. With these credentials, there’s no doubt the Lakers star has his eyes set on this upcoming Super Bowl.

The Lakers star successfully predicted almost every outcome of the NFL wild-card round, correctly picking four of the six games — including the Washington Commanders over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Buffalo Bills over the Denver Broncos, the Baltimore Ravens over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Eagles over the Green Bay Packers.

What James didn’t predict was a 118-104 loss to the Sixers on Tuesday. With multiple Eagles players in attendance at the Wells Fargo Center, the Sixers’ win has pushed the team to 18-27. Philly teams are now 3-0 this week with other Philly players in attendance. The Flyers won their game against the New Jersey Devils on Monday with DeJean in attendance and the Eagles won on Sunday with Sixers’ forward Guerschon Yabusele attending his very first football game.
