Sixers hire Rico Hines as assistant coach on Nick Nurse’s staff
Hines was most recently a player development coach with Nurse with the Toronto Raptors. He joins Bobby Jackson on the coaching staff.
Rico Hines is joining the 76ers’ staff as an assistant coach, a league source confirmed to The Inquirer on Wednesday morning.
Hines most recently was a player development coach on the Toronto Raptors’ staff under new Sixers coach Nick Nurse. He previously worked as a player development coach for the Sacramento Kings (2019-22), as an assistant for the G League’s Stockton Kings/Reno Bighorns (2016-19), and for St. John’s University (2010-15).
Hines was a player development coach for the Golden State Warriors from 2006-10, and played college basketball at UCLA from 1997-2002.

He also is a well-known personal trainer, including for current Sixers reserve center Montrezl Harrell. Hines has organized the popular pickup games at UCLA featuring numerous NBA and college players who spend their offseasons in Los Angeles.
Hines joins Bobby Jackson, the former head coach of the G League’s Stockton Kings and NBA Sixth Man of the Year, as assistant coaches hired for Nurse’s staff.
