Joel Embiid’s bounce-back game, Furkan Korkmaz’s thievery, Ben Simmons’ turnover-less outing | Sixers vs. Thunder Best/Worst
Korkmaz rewarded the Sixers for starting him with a career-best five steals.
OKLAHOMA CITY — This contest was basically the equivalent of a dress rehearshal for the 76ers.
The Oklahoma City Thunder never had a chance even with the Sixers resting Joel Embiid in the fourth quarter and giving Tobias Harris and Danny Green the night off.
Here’s a look at the best and worst performances from the Sixers’ 117-93 victory over the Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Best performance
Embiid gets this. The center finished with 27 points on 10-for-17 shooting to go with nine rebounds, four assists, and four blocks one night after struggling to score 14 points on 5-for-16 shooting. He was a plus-19 in 27 minutes, 14 seconds against the overmatched Thunder.
Worst performance
Moses Brown gets this. Brown failed to provide any level of resistance while guarding Embiid. Yes, I know Embiid’s an MVP candidate. But he did whatever he wanted to do against Brown.
Best defensive performance
Furkan Korkmaz gets this. Korkmaz rewarded the Sixers for starting him with a career-best five steals. That came on a night when he also posted a season-high 20 points.
Worst statistic
This goes to Darius Bazley’s nine turnovers. The Thunder forward had a solid shooting night, scoring 17 points. However, his nine turnovers took away from his effort.

Best statistic
This goes to Ben Simmons not committing a turnover in 28:19. That’s a solid effort for a guy who had six the night before.
Best of the best
This goes to the Sixers posting a bounce-back effort after being “mentally weak” in a loss to the undermanned New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
