SAN ANTONIO — Whew!

The 76ers defeated the undermanned San Antonio Spurs, 113-111, in overtime Sunday night in a closer-than-expected game at the AT&T Center. Ben Simmons scored on a tip-in right before the buzzer as Philly escaped with the victory.

Here are Sunday night’s best and worst awards.

Best performance

Seth Curry gets this on a night Joel Embiid posted game highs of 34 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 13-for-23 from the floor. Curry had a hot hand, scoring 22 points. He made 8 of 10 shots, including all six of his three-pointers. Fourteen of his points came in the first half. The shooting guard would have had more if the Sixers had done a better job of sharing the ball.

Worst performance

Furkan Korkmaz gets this. The Sixers reserve missed six of his seven shots en route to finishing with three points. He was a minus-11 in 13 minutes, 30 seconds.

Best defensive performance

Simmons wins this. The Sixers point guard gets it over teammates Matisse Thybulle (two blocks and a steal) and Dwight Howard (game-high three blocks). Simmons finished with two steals. But his defensive highlights were two big charges on Keldon Johnson he drew in the overtime. The first came with the Sixers ahead, 109-107, with 4:27 remaining. The second came with his team up, 111-109, with 1:08 to play.
